On July 18, 2006, The Frankenpost reviewed one of Jeanine's performances in Germany as follows:

The magic has a name: Jeanine Noyes! The lady with great personal presence works with a voice which enchants. No matter if a capella, accompanied with guitar or with piano — the sound of this voice expresses everything which is needed for dedication and longing. Jeanine Noyes is able to sing a prayer like an angel or chants "I love you" like a mantra … absolutely astonishing!

Jeanine Noyes is a wonderful and original talent. I have listened to her CDs often and I have been moved and inspired every time. I recently hosted a live concert at my home, Freswick Castle in Scotland, and saw how she entertained, enthralled and captivated her audience. She has a very natural and powerful stage presence and brings her own unique combination of humour, honesty and raw emotion to her work. The evening was unforgettable. Jeanine is an artist to be treasured, listened to over and over again and, whenever she is performing live, she should not be missed.

He's Here CD Release: November 14 in Toronto

The big CD Release Concert for He's Here took place Sunday November 14 at the Enoch Turner School House. Jeanine and the band, choir and string quartet played to a sold out house. It was a magical evening. Thanks to everyone who came.

Will Finlay wrote the following review of the concert for the Winter 2005 edition of the Imago newsletter:

It was standing-room-only at the Enoch Turner School House in Toronto in mid-November as friends and music lovers gathered to celebrate the release of Jeanine Noyes' Christmas CD He's Here. Flanked by her usual group of solid musicians including Toronto-scene regulars Fergus Marsh and Doug Romanow, Ms. Noyes delivered an exceptional evening of new and newly-arranged traditional Christmas offerings. From a rocking gospel rendition of "Go Tell It on the Mountain" to a roots-y country-blues interpretation of the typically sacrosanct "Silent Night" to the haunting and ethereal palindrome poem "You Are All Things Beautiful", the effect was delicious and magical … and not at all unexpected. With her recent successes in musical theatre, this Dora Award nominee knows how to put on a show. Comfortable and engaging, Jeanine's performance was capably bolstered by a string quartet and a phalanx of versatile back-up singers. He's Here is an imago-sponsored project and is available in select music shops or at www.jeaninenoyes.com.

Bob Sweetman of the Institute for Christian Studies at the University of Toronto wrote the following:

Ms. Noyes' arrangements respect the Christmas songs they render in the sense that they acknowledge them as songs of wonder and praise in which the music is to set off and deepen the experience of the words. In so doing, Ms. Noyes' arrangements also lowered the often high "sugar content" by adding musical grit via folk, jazz and blues layerings. Ms. Noyes own voice did much of this latter work. Her between-song patter put on display a quick, spontaneous humour that was at turns broadly physical (over-the-top fussing with her dress), and gently self deprecatory (playing the diva with a nudge and a wink). One of the numbers, her musical palindrome "You Are All Things Beautiful", was heart-poundingly moving, showcasing Ms. Noyes' compositional sophistication as well as the giftedness of her musical supporting cast. What fun!

transparent Toronto CD Release

Jeanine's Toronto CD ReleaseJeanine showcased songs from her debut CD entitled transparent at the George Ignatieff Theatre at Trinity College, University of Toronto. She was joined on stage by the best of Toronto musicians, including Fergus Marsh on bass and Chapman stick, Bruce McCarthy on drums, Scott Cassells on guitar, and Stephanie Belding, Eliza-Jane Scott and Jane Miller on vocals; the show was opened by Juno Nominee Blaise Pascal.

This spectacle was much more than your average CD release show: The show itself was directed by three time Dora Award nominee Tom Carson. Tom has been directing for Brookstone Theatre for many years, and directed the hit show that Jeanine starred in last year, 2000 Candles.

Below is a review of the performance that appeared in the imago newsletter:

"Jeanine's debut CD is entitled transparent. She opened the concert with the title track. It was just her and her piano, as she sang, "if you want to see me." She was real, and even though we saw her, she never got in the way of the songs. She was just up there singing and playing, communicating in music, some of the things she has seen and learned along the way. And she did it wonderfully.

"There was a nice flow to the set list and a good balance between a few impromptu moments and Jeanine's well chosen interesting stories which she used to introduce and illuminate the songs.

"The songs ran a range of musical styles as was appropriate for the many different ideas expressed. From soft pop to folk to jazz and blues with some great guitar solos worthy of any decent rock band. Some of the songs put me in mind of Joni Mitchell, some of Holly Cole, but that was in retrospect, while listening to the CD at home. At the concert it was all live, in person, Jeanine and the band, and some great songs played real well with lots of conviction.

"Jeanine closed the concert, and the CD, with abide with me, a traditional, simple request for the One who changest not, to be her guide and stay, and to abide with her. It came as a reminder that all her songs spring from a perspective which is shaped by the Lord who desires to abide with us all.

"The packed house called her back for a rousing encore which brought everyone to their feet. The standing ovation was well deserved."

Other Events and Co-performers

In addition to the venues listed above, Jeanine has performed at the Kingston All Folks Festival, The Worship, Arts, and Music (WAM) Festival in Guelph, and Toronto's Fringe Festival as part of the production Rosemary's Barbie.
